This photo was taken during a walk through a forest in southern Germany in spring.

The incident sunlight impressively highlights the leaves on the fresh branch. It seems as if the left leaf is almost glowing itself. The heart shapes that can be recognised in the picture create an additional expression. The light is not just a means to an end here. Its biological significance is also emphasised. Light and leaf green (chlorophyll) and the associated process of photosynthesis form one of the existential foundations of all oxygen-breathing creatures, including us humans.

For me, this photo combines the concepts of light and life.
